Description of Events

One Mile Fun Run – 8:30 AM - A great out and back run for kids or warm-up for adults and seasoned runners! Take a jog or sprint down Old Chimney Mountain Road over the Left Fork Soque river and enjoy the crisp October mountain air.

6K Run & Walk – 9:00 AM – The main event! Get ready to start on the  bridge at the site of the river restoration project for the 3.75 mile jaunt through the river valleys that merge in this rural community known as Batesville. Firemen will be stationed at each highway turn to ensure your safety on the route. You’ll find a water table after the challenging climb up the  hill to the Batesville crossroads. Be welcomed and congratulated back at the finish line where you’ll be served ice cold bottled water, fresh muffins, and treated to bluegrass tunes.  Stay for the award ceremony afterwards for locally made pottery and great door prizes.

Batesville Days Festival – 10: AM – 4:00 PM – Stick around after the event and attend the Batesville Days Festival held at and around the grounds of the Batesville General Store, Batesville Fire Department, and Headwaters Realty office. Enjoy food, crafts, exhibitions, and music in the tradition of historic Batesville and get a taste of the rural environment in the northeast Georgia mountains.
